Thrill, action, delight and a sounding “Yattah”! These sum up the second to the last day of the Philippine delegates in Japan.

TV TOKYO HOLDINGS CORPORATION

The day starts with anime lovers’ living their dreams as the delegates set foot on the best home of Japanimation-, TV Tokyo. It is best known for its robust line up and world premiere of hit anime series like Naruto, Bleach, Pokemon, Beyblade, Yu-gioh and more. To their delight, they are welcomed with a banana character at the entrance which actually is popular in TV Tokyo. The fun fact is that banana character is influenced by the banana from the Philippines.

They are also able to learn the structure and operations of TV Tokyo Holdings Corporation as an Integrated Hub for Information and Entertainment through a lecture and forum with the Head of Global Distribution, Animation Division, Mr. Hiroaki Saiki. They learn that TV Tokyo Group is the nation’s largest TV program syndication covering 70 % of the national household. It is the only nationally distributing network which airs animation, youth programs and business news every day of the week.

The delegates are lucky enough to tour around its arts studio, news studio, control room and experience themselves Japan’s high quality broadcast equipment. Each delegate is given a chance to act and appear on TV screen as weather forecaster, just few minutes before the actual airing.

WORKSHOP

Because of the gloomy weather, the delegates change itinerary and go on directly to the workshop venue whereas each of them presents his or her individual action plan. As delegates of JENESYS 2019 YEMI, they shall proactively share the diplomatic stance, appeals of Japan and other relevant information through implementation of programs and activities in their respective hometowns. Coming from different media outfits and institutions, they come up with print, broadcast, digital content, policy and event promotions that they would implement upon returning to the Philippines.

Afterwards, the delegates get some more time to shop around and head early for an unforgettable dining experience.

PREPARING THE ICONIC OKONOMIYAKI

“Itadakimasu!”

What was figuratively thought could be “The Last Supper” in Japan, the delegates enjoy and make the most out of making Okonomiyaki , a Japanese savory pancake ,the name of which literally means'grilled as you like it'.

They definitely enjoy preparing the okonomiyaki as much as they enjoy the taste of batter mix of flour, eggs, shredded cabbage, meat/ protein and the flavorsome sauce.

Every delegate makes sure to do his and her flipping ,frying up of some yakisoba noodles and breaking of egg on top of the pancake. What a day!
